    Hmmm...

Double posting this cause I'm too stupid to use the app... this is a Maibock I brewed today. Cooled to 70. Threw in ferm chamber for an hour or so pitched yeast and went to dinner. Came back to a light top layer. Think it's starsan that got sucked through the blowoff?

Oh no... what did I do?

More worried about the top layer

Oh no... what did I do?

So... brewed a Maibock today (my second lager) Cooled the wort to about 70. Covered with foil and set in fermentation chamber for about an hour, pitched yeast and went out to dinner. Came home to this. I am using a blow off to a jug with starsan. Think it sucked some in?

    Irish Whiskey

So my friend just got back from an Ireland trip and brought me a bottle of Teeling Small Batch. This stuff is amazing. It got me thinking about how the Irish usually get lost in the fray when it comes to whiskey. So what's your favorite? BTW if you can find someone to bring you some Teelings, or...

Uh Oh.. What did I do?

No top off water. Because the water flowing through my counterflow was too warm to cool the wort I ended up sealing up the carboy and throwing it in the ol chest freezer for a bit to cool it down to pitching temps. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

Uh Oh.. What did I do?

This is floating in my fermenter? Did I screw up? BTW I had a hard time cooling the wort because our ground water is so hot right now and my pre-chiller wasn't as effective as I had hoped. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

    How bad will this be?

Well I guess this one will have to wait until another day. I cold crashed my Kolsch, but didn't think about expansion/contraction with Temp changes. Long Story Short... I sucked about 16-24 oz of water out of my blow-off bucket. I ended up with a very nicely layered carboy with a good yeast...

    Bourbon!!!!

If you ever want to splurge and see some Buffalo Trace Single Oak Project, I highly recommend it. It'll run you about $55 for a 375ml bottle, but why not treat yourself sometimes.
