Thanks for the info... After looking through 10 pages of threads about cutting the kegs, I did not find the pages on material.

Quick question, what are kegs made of, stainless steel or aluminum? I may have a line on one, he insists it is aluminum.

Extra Keg /Keggles for Sale $150

I cannot speak for the selling side, but I can speak for the consuming side. There are three things that drive the price; supply, demand and location. While the price may sound high, considering legal kegs are not easy to find in my location, the price is fair. I may be able to drive to...

    Planting in tires.

Unless you bury part of the tire, don't expect it to stop them. I had a railroad tie next ot my Sunbeams to mark the mowing line, they went right under it and poped up out about two feet from the main crown.

    Cascades hop harvest aroma???

Take your finger or thumb and rub it under the petal on the lupin gland. The yellow part. Then smell it. It is hard to describe the smell, it is a tart type of smell, kind of grapefruity.

    BLING BLING Electric HERMS Conversion

The Pol, You said that this is for a boil kettle. I noticed that you are not using ultra low density elements in your kettle. I have heard about the story of scorching the wort, have you been able to disprove this as a myth?

    Northern Indiana - New Grower

I understand your suspicions. I have not dealt with this person or company. They look like a good deal. The feedback looks good If you are going to try to do this, you need to get moving. The longer they are out of the ground, the less chance they will do anything this year or at all...

    Northern Indiana - New Grower

No, it is not to late to put them in the ground, but you need to do it very soon. You may not find a supplier to send you rhizomes this late. I got mine from The Thyme Garden, Thyme Garden Herb Company organically grown herbs, herb seeds, plants, and hops. , last year. I have Cascade...

How long is it taking you to get sprouts this year?

I have 6-second year varieties in the ground. I had to keep them in the refrigerator for a couple of weeks because the ground and the weather would not let me. When I planted them last spring, I checked them about every other day!! When they did start to break thru, I had to put a fence...

    Which Kettle?

I might be getting some funds available to me and I would like to start gathering equipment to go all grain. I am trying to decide on which brew pot to get next. I want the ability to directly heat the MTL. I already have this eight-gallon kettle. Heavy Duty Brew Kettle (32 Quart/8 Gallon)...

    Electric HLT thread.

No, you cannot change the shape of the element. They contain a wire that is surrounded by a ceramic material that will crack and fracture the outer skin/surface. There may be an element manufacture that makes one that will, but the ones for water heaters and hot plate elements are not.

    Rhizome Exchange Anyone?

I got mine for the Thyme Garden,Thyme Garden Herb Company organically grown herbs, herb seeds, plants, and hops. I was well pleased with the price and quality of plants. I know there are several other suppliers. You will not be able to get any until March or April, because the plant is...

Anyone ever stored wort from steeping

What I have done, and take this advice for what is worth, I have “canned” my steeped wort from specialty grains. I do not have a mill yet, so when I get grain to steep, I get it crushed. Then I will go as far as the steeping process, then I put the wort in canning jars and pressure-cook them...
