This came with the 20gal triclamp SS brewtech mash tun. I use it for two things.. one precision flow control for mash transfer to BK during fly sparge, and also throw it on after a butterfly valve on a conical for slow yeast collection. Very simliar to a diaphragm valve used in larger setups...
I picked it up thru a Canadian distributor, but with that said, I wasn't aware it was discontinued? It seems it was just recently removed from their SS brewtech website, as I could have sworn it was there few days back.
Its almost identical to their 20Gal BME Brite tank - though the major...
Happy with the purchase. No surprises, just waiting on a TC extension for steam condenser.
The bottom drain is well positioned and drains fully. Will be good for CIP.
Hey Bobby,
Just wondering how you confirmed this? Im on a mission for bottom drain and fully agree w/ basically everything you've noted, dip tube and whirlpool ports can be added into front ports.
I was also looking at the 20Gal SS Brewtech brite tank for bottom drain BK conversion but looks...
Ill take the faucet. Im in Canada (southern ontario), could you see how much extra it would be to ship and ill either pay the difference, or you can ship it to the US border (something like CBI) and ill pick up from there.
yes that washer wont seal as the face on the regulator will just contact the mating face on the tank connector.. the washer wont work. ive never seen a regulator with a connector such as that.
again, as long as you get silver bearing plumbing solder (home depot/lowes) you will be fine. Just get the right flux

If this is to solder stainless, dont worry about it, you can use any silver based solder (home depot has some). Whats important is the stay brite liquid flux. I had to buy some over ebay (16oz bottle for around 25bucks)
Some brew pubs do use serving tanks rather than kegs. But still, very different in design than a conical. Just think very large keg with temperature control.
Yes, at my little brewery the conical is the bottle neck in the process. It would definitely suck if I had to wait until the beer was done to ferment another.
Dont worry, transfering from conical to keg under pressure is easy as can be.
you could of course use a controller like that (not exactly that one) to output to a appropriately sized mechanical relay or solid state relay to switch the element.
