How do I adapt an All Grain Recipt to Brew in a Bag?????

Interesting, occasionally I forget to get it started ahead of time and it really slows me down. I'll have to try that sometime. Thanks!

How do I adapt an All Grain Recipt to Brew in a Bag?????

I start with 7 gal of water. Pull and squeeze, then sparge back to 7 gal with ~ 1 gal of water at 180 degrees. I use volume calculations to control my time. Since evaporation rate is different constantly where I live (Georgia). I may have a shorter or longer boil as a result. Either way I hit my...

    Toasted Coconut

It's already toasted, just thought a little heat would help the flavor. When you add it after primary should I soak the bag in starsan? I haven't done any post primary additions.

    Toasted Coconut

Thanks for the feedback. Good stuff. I'll do just that. Maybe zap the coconut for a few seconds to release the oils? Brewing right now so glad I finally got to reading this. Many thanks. A2H

    Toasted Coconut

My wife had some toasted coconut left over from a pie she made. I want to add it to my winter brown. Should I put it in the mash? It's not a fermentable. Could use some advice here. Thanks! A2H

    1 Gallon kits

I am at the point where I want to start experimenting and want to get a 1 gallon kit. With Mid West and Northern Brewer selling out to inBev, can anyone recommend a good place to buy one? Thanks, A2H

    Corny Keg

It is, in fact, a Spartan. I wasn't sure if that was a name. Is there any way to determine the age? Thanks!

    Corny Keg

I just acquired through a friend a corny keg. It was dirty but cleaned up well. Made its way to Atlanta from New Hampshire. The CO2 post has a twelve point post. It appears to be very old, I'm guessing maybe 60's or 70's. Anyone have any knowledge on this. Very thick stainless. Very sturdy. See...

    Wide Mouth Bubbler lid sealing

The Universal lid is the way to go. The change is incredible. I didn't push it down all the way and the pressure popped it off. Before that I had no action in my airlock.

    Mold on my beer???

That is the cause. You aren't here and haven't done the analysis I've done. I am providing this as a helpful warning. You don't have to agree and I don't care if you don't.

    Mold on my beer???

Homercidal, Its taken quite a while but I have figured out the problem. The big mouth bubbler I ordered has a defective design on the lid. Its a hard plastic ridge that doesn't seal the air against the pressure released by the yeast. I finally ordered a universal lid for the big mouth bubbler...

    Messed up and need HELP

Since you are already that far in you might want to consider some DME instead and add to secondary. That way the DME will give you a little boost for your yeast in suspension. Might get a little more fermentation in secondary.
