After owning a brand new Taprite dual gauge regulator for a few months the tank pressure gauge is now totally destroyed from having the tank fall over too many times. I am now considering removing the tank pressure gauge entirely until I can demonstrate competency in tank regulator ownership...

I just got the parts in to build the MK2 version, but after fussing around with the clamps, I dumped them and used instead standard dip tube washers to keep the metal washers from sliding off.

I figured I had nothing to lose, so I used some tin snips to cut it down to 5 coils. That was enough to get it to fit, and it does work. It requires a concerted effort to pull the handle down and snaps back quick.

After receiving the spring in the mail it looks like they are not compatible. The Intertap shank has a large deep opening at the faucet end where the spring will sit. The Krome Dispense has an opening at the faucet end that is not deep enough to accept the spring.

Are Krome Dispense brand shanks compatible with the Intertap self closing faucet spring?
