I'm working on a split back and that requires me to perform a secondary mini mash for additional extract and color. Will the following convert? Im trying to solve for how much pilsner malt is needed to allow this to convert as much as possible. How does one figure this out?
Assume 150-156F for...
We were considering serving it on draft but not putting it into cans so thankyou for bringing this to my attention. Ah so what you’re saying is due to the lack of ethanol, it may harbor bacterial growth? Most of this decision was for me to have an NA beer on draft at the brewery for healthier...
Thankyou for taking the time to describe your process. Have you tried skipping the cold mash and mash at 176F like I am describing in original post? I'm curious what the cold mash brings to the table that a heated mash does not. I am targeting .5% so I can sell this as non alcoholic. I however...
How’s this process working out for you? I’m looking to try the hot mash (176F) method curious if I should try cold mash followed by mashing in the boil kettle. I haven’t brewed an NA or low ABv beer to date
My hunch was with the low OG, the POF+ trait wouldn’t be so prevalent. In other words a very small amount of esters/phenolics lending to the overall flavor of the beer but not jump out at you like a Belgian or similar beer would. I cannot substantiate this tho.
Not sure why Brewfather link...
Looking for some feedback on a recipe I put together for my first NA beer. Going for an easy drinking crisp beer- blonde ale hopefully lager-like.
I wanted to use a more complex base malt but had Pilsner on hand so I pumped up the specialty malts a bit.
Hops are reserved hoping for a balanced...
I’ve only used Windsor once a very long time ago when I was first home brewing. I remember because I had a bad experience…probably because it’s a low attenuator and I like dry beer. London ESB sounds like a good sub.
Try Brufather and trust the ph calculations. I typically acidify both the...
@elproducto Thankyou for sharing the recipe, it looks solid. Do you have any suggestions for an easy drinking lager? I’d like to start there before attempting IPA
Have you tried halting fermentation as a method to controlling ABV?
Hey guys I too want to brew low alcohol beer. I’ve been doing a few sober months here and there and just really enjoy the taste of beer.
My thoughts before reading about NE mashing was to mash a low OG beer hot and pair that with a yeast that doesn’t ferment maltriose.
Have you guys heard of...
Sup Jay. Crap, I bought it already. Do you think recirculating ice water would help?
Any suggestion on proper flow rate? I have my old home brew march pumps I could use
