    Secondary needed?

If I brew 10 gal. of lager, can I just rack directly to keg for conditioning? Or is it absolutely vital that I secondary before kegging?

First beer I did was a kolsch. Absolutely lights out. Everybody raved about it. I don't know how to add umlaut.:o

    Using commercial kegs

Fermenting, and I came to the conclusion I only need a gas in port. I will solder a close nipple on the original dip tube and use it. Then i just need to add a thermowell, and blowoff. Then I can pressure transfer my beer into my corny kegs in the keezer directly from the ferm. chamber...

    Using commercial kegs

Good catch. Damn auto correct got me again. i know how to clean a snake, I have a great recipe for rattlesnake. A sanke on the other hand. I think I'm leaning toward cutting a 9 inch hole in the top, and making a lid out of stainless, and plexiglass or just stainless. I just need to figure out...

    Using commercial kegs

Thats what I'm looking for. I'm just about sold on the conversion posts. Well, I am sold. I just don"t know anything about cleaning a snake. You just take out the spear, and hose it out or what?

    Using commercial kegs

I have been reading on using commercial kegs. The idea appeals to me for several reasons, uniformity of equipment, etc. I was wondering if anybody has used the "keg part" conversions for commercial kegs, and if so can you walk a guy through it. I have made beer!

No priming sugar, just CO2. There is a definite possibility that I'm just being impatient. I set it up, and left on vac. May have had to low of pressure to it.

    I have made beer!

Naw, no pics yet. I thought Kolsch was a lighter color, it just seems a little dark, and a little to hoppy. I did a full 5 gal. boil, and I never could get a definitive answer in searching whether I should adjust my hop additions. Now I believe I should have cut my bittering hops by a little...

    I have made beer!

My first batch (Kolsch) is legged and carbed. A little under carbed, and not sure how to remedy. It doesn't look or taste like Kolsch, but its drinkable. All in all, not bad for a first effort.:ban:
