Yeast starter question.
I made a 4L starter with an OG of 1.036. I used a slurry of yeast that I had leftover from a previous starter. The yeast is 34/70. It was on a stir plate for 4 days. I didn't see any krausen but just let it go. I just checked the gravity out of curiosity and it is 1.030. Seems not right to me. This same slurry that I did another starter with never really took off in that batch of beer that I made it for and I ended up pitching in some dry packs. So is this starter no good? Thoughts?
