I've been using pinlock kegs, since I found them behind
bars in Honolulu. I prefer pinlocks. I had about 25 of
them when I left. That was the time everyone was switching
over to BinB systems, and the old stuff was thrown out the
back door. I even found a Co2 bottle, and a 9 tube cold
plate, with the "wand" dispenser.

The actual connector is the same for either connector,
so my Co2 line has the adapter sleeve removed. I can
run Co2 through the gas (short) tube, or the beer (long)
tube. It will fit on either, but I have to hold it there.
(Throw the keg of flat beer in the kegerator for a day,
hook up the Co2 to the beer connection, and carbonate
up from the bottom.)

Can't do that on a ball lock keg.

Yes, I refill the keg after an evening of enjoying. I do
NOT leave the Co2 connected all the time.

I just picked up 4 like new, barely used, clean as a whistle and not a scratch on them ball lock kegs for $25 a piece and the seller threw in 4 liquid and gas quick disconnects and a brand new in the package lid with gasket for no charge. Life is good!
