I have not tried jamil’s west coast blaster red ipa from classic styles, but was wondering if swapping out the British pale ale malt for Vienna would work? Or should I stick to the original? What British malt should I go with?

It will probably make a good beer either way. It just depends if you want to make the recipe, or make something else that is inspired by it.
It all depends on your goals.

Pataskala Red IPA 19 litres.

Malts (4.78 kg)

2 kg (41.8%) — BESTMALZ BEST Red X® — Grain — 15 SRM

1.5 kg (31.4%) — Crisp Vienna Malt — Grain — 4 SRM

1 kg (20.9%) — Crisp Finest Maris Otter® Ale Malt — Grain — 3.3 SRM

250 g (5.2%) — Weyermann Carared — Grain — 24 SRM

30 g (0.6%) — Weyermann Carafa Special III — Grain — 710 SRM

I’ve made this IPA twice with good results.

Never had that red ipa before. Is that the actual recipe?
