A couple of weeks ago I read one of these threads and decided to give fermenting peppers a shot.
I used some lids that I already had from some mycology experiments with .22 micron filters on them.
My thought process at the time was that the CO2 would push the air out.
Now I am second guessing myself.

Any thoughts?

0.22 micron is very very fine. Less than 1 is typically considered "sterile" as it won't pass yeast. Most brewers who filter use 5 micron.

Anyway, it's overkill, but unless it gets clogged it will allow gas to escape, which is the goal (and to keep out those pesky fruit flies).
