Cleaning lines with tap springs

For those of you that put springs in your faucets to auto-close, how are you cleaning your lines? I was considering cutting a piece of wood to wedge behind my tap handles to keep them open for this, but I wanted to get other ideas if possible.

That is exactly what I did.
I have 6 faucets on a t-tower so cut a piece of 1x2 that I jam between the row of faucet handles and the front face of the tower box...
