Define the state of things
So far
Crazy things
Soft-spoken
With your eyes open
You know soft-spoken changes nothing
A view so cruel

Skinny Puppy - Worlock

My favorite "fark you" line from a song...

Well, I heard some people talkin' just the other day
And they said you were gonna put me on a shelf
But let me tell you I got some news for you
And you'll soon find out it's true
And then you'll have to eat your lunch all by yourself
'Cause I'm already gone

Already Gone, The Eagles

I once hid my lust for stardom like a filthy magazine
I stroked the shaft of my guitar and watched you on the screen
I've become now what I wanted
To be all along
A psychopathic poet, the devil's bastard son

Wall of Voodoo - Far Side of Crazy

Now, some kind of man he can't do anything wrong, if I see him I'll tell him you're waiting

Mercenary Territory - Little Feat / Lowell George

Skinny was born in a bathtub
And he grew so incredibly thin
Even the end of an eyedropper
sucked him in

Hello Skinny - the Residents

"Did you exchange
A walk-on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?"

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

I always thought that line was "a walk-on part in The Wall", referencing the movie based on the album. Just looked it up and learned that the album The Wall wasn't even released until 4 years after this song...

It ain't home till you take the wheels off,
it ain't home till its up on blocks.
There ain't nothin' like your very own spot,
Your own redneck camelot.

It ain't home till you take the wheels off...

It Ain't Home Till You Take the Wheels Off -Antsy McClain And The Trailer Park Troubadours

I dunno why it took me so long to recall this one... When Kurt Cobain blew his brains out, a lot of his pop-mentality 'fans' asked 'why?', to which I'd qoute his words... The blank uncomprehending stare I got in response never failed to make me laugh;

He's the one who likes all our pretty songs
And he likes to sing along and he likes to shoot his gun
But he don't know what it means

In Bloom - Nirvana

...and that calls to mind one of my personal favourites from years earlier;

Why kill time when you can kill yourself

Why Kill Time (When You Can Kill Yourself) - Cabaret Voltaire

"I fought the <blackberries> and the <blackberries> won"

PSA Kiddies: trim the dying stalks that flowered prior year, well in advance of next year's explosion of skin shredding thorn hell.
You've been warned.
