I just replanted a Centenial plant to a new location. I got most the roots but not all came up with the plant.
How well do hops root re-grow new plants? I realize rhizomes can produce new plants but how big does a root have to be to be viable?
The reason I ask is that I am putting a new hops variety where the centenial once was and would prefer the centenial not to come back. I also collected some of the roots I could find and pull up and planted them in a new location.
Thanks,
Scott

I believe rhizomes and roots are two different entities. Rhizomes can bud and produce a new crown / hop plant. If you destroy the rhizomes and the crown a normal root will not have the capacity to form into a new plant.
