I should have consulted the forums or Yeast Calc or Mr. Malty a little sooner rather than getting overzealous and making a yeast starter, but here is my situation: I'm making a California Common OG 1.050, I bought two vials of WLP 810 California Lager yeast and decided to make a 2 liter starter and then step up to a second two liter starter. However, since this is a hybrid type fermentation, I think I may have overshot my required number of cells to pitch. I know it's better to have more cells than less cells, but it is best to have just the optimal number of cells.

Thoughts? I plan on building up my yeast bank by saving a couple vials worth of yeast.
