Hey, I really like this recipe but am having trouble figuring out how to convert it from extract to all grain.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Vince

Fermentables
6.6 lb. Munich LME
2 lb. Golden DME
8 oz. Maltodextrin

Specialty Grains
8 oz. Caramel 120L
4 oz. Chocolate
4 oz. Carapils

Hops
1 oz. Mt. Rainier
.5 oz. Golding

OG: 1.064 - 1.068
FG: 1.014 - 1.018

Dark Brown in color.

Munich LME is generally half Munich and half 6 or 2 row.
In your case, I would use 4 lbs. Munich and 6 lbs. 2 row with the other grains, and mash @ 154-156*F.
You may or may not want to use the maltodextrin and carapils (they may not be necessary). The O.G. will be lower if you do not use them, in which case, increase the Munich and 2 row by one lb. each.
Your mileage may vary! Good luck. :mug:

thank you MBTB!

What would i do in order to replace the 2 lb. of golden DME?

To make it a little easier;
1 lb. of LME provides approx. 37 points per lb. per gallon of water.
1 lb. of DME provides approx. 44 points per lb. per gallon of water.
1 lb. of base malt (grain) provides 25-30 points per lb. per gallon of water depending on your methods. :mug:
