Started my keezer build last night.

My buddy Kyle and I were able to build the bottom frame and attach the collar.

I purchased a 8.8 (9) cubic foot chest freezer from lowe's. The 12.9 was only $30 more but I could not accomodate the extra 8 inch increase (front to back).

We plan to plate the keezer with 1/2" birch or oak paneling and frame the panels with 1x3 poplar pieces. This will give the keezer the "mission style" look to match the rest of the cabinets.

I have attached photos of the base and the collar.

More to come......

The keezer collar is rock solid. We used loctite power grab heavy duty adhesive. Started to add the wood paneling to the front and sides. Used 1/2 inch oak plywood.

Next will be to finish the cornered miters and framing.

Here are pics of the plywood and adhesive, in case anyone else is searching.

We got a lot of work done yesterday.

We finished the framing, staining and added cooper foil to the collar and freezer top. Also, we added insulated foam to the interior of the collar.

The plan is to cover the cooper freezer top with clear coat crackle glaze, just like a bar top.

The last step on the exterior will be to cover the stain with linseed oil.
