I'm about to brew NB Dead Ringer which is a 64 gravity beer how much water and DME should I use for my yeast starter? I am using Wyeast 1056 smack pack

Im ordering that tonight. What I need to know is how much done and water to use? I know a 40 gravity would need around 2 cups of water and 1/2 cup DME, so how much of that would I need for a 64 gravity beer?

I'm new to this forum, where do you suggest I post my threads?

A proper starter is a 10:1 ratio of DME to water

100grams DME to 1L water as an example. It is much more accurate to weigh DME than measure by volume. Go to Www.yeastcalc.com and plug in all the numbers and it will tell you how large a starter you need based on batch size, OG and viability of yeast
