Hey guys,

I was looking to see if anybody had a good experience making a hoppy red ale. Using all malt extract with yeast starter.

I currently have galaxy, citra, amarillo and simcoe on hand. But open to any other hops. I'm just looking for a hoppy red ale recipe

If you have any suggestions that would be awesome! Thanks

Northern Brewer Amber extract is mashed with 2-row, Munich, and C-60. That is pretty much a red ale grist. I would grab some of that and you should be able to make a pretty nice beer.

I make quite a few hoppy reds. It really depends on what you are looking for. They can range quite a bit from ~5% on up to 9%+ ABV

I got the idea for my Red Zombie IPA from a local brewery.

It uses
2-row
Munich
C-60
C-80
Cara Red

Citra
Amarillo
Simcoe
Cascade

Neutral ale yeast (1056 or US-05)
OG: 1.060 FG: 1.013

Probably my favorite beer of all time.
