15 Gallon Corney Kegs --- Why?

I saw this link on Ebay today and it got me wondering.

What were 10 and 15 gallon Corney Kegs made for?

What industry?

I ask because when I was a kid I remember the soda trucks driving adound with the 5 Gallon kegs delivering syrup but I have never seen a commercial use for the larger ones.

Anybody Know?

I don't think they were used for anything in the past. From the look and the description it's a new one. So I would guess they are making this for people who want 15 gallons of homebrew in one keg

I've seen 10 gallon kegs used as portable pressurized eye wash stations. We use them around our caustic systems on waste gas scrubbers. Here is an example.

The two 10 gallon ones I have came from a carpet cleaning service. They are Firestone brand.

They were used for soda, just like 5 gal. Just not as common. I have seen 10 and 15 gal used ones with pepsi stickers on them.
