whats the difference in gas line sizes?

What's the difference (beside the size) of 1/4" and 5/16" gas lines?

Im pretty sure nothing. Also, another dumb question... Why is the gas line i bought from beverage factory blue and not red?

For a home setup no difference. As for why it is blue it is because they put blue dye in the plastic. I have used red, blue and clear no difference.
