Well i just put my first all grain in the carboy about 10 mins ago... There is already a good 2 inches of trub

Is that normal?

If your process is to dump everything from the brew kettle into the fermenter then it is normal. When I do this I see trub settle out a few hours after pitching.
 
That is either not screened, or the screen is not fine enough.
 
I use that screen and clog way too easy. Get yourself a nylon hop bag. I use a hod bag for all mine and none of the hop mess gets in. I get trub in the fermenter but it's maybe 1/2 inch after 10-14 days into fermentation.
 
I use hop nag during the boil .... That's why I'm confused there is so much trub so quick


The homebrew shop crushed it for me... Could it be a bad crush?
