My 70 year old Mother and her roomates from college are going on a trip this summer and have asked me to make them my citra pale ale. I can not think of a better compliment. Now I just hae to brew it and not screw it up.

Women were attending college back then? :)

Good luck with the brew. Got a recipe?

I'd go with...
9 lb 2 row
.25 lb honey malt
.5 lb c40
1 oz citra FWH
.5 oz citra 15
.5 oz citra 5
1 oz citra FO
1 oz citra DH

bottle prime with honey

I allready have a recipe in fact I just finished a keg of it this afternoon. The recipe is
9.5 lb 2 row
.75 lb victory malt
.5lb crystal 15or crystal 20 depending on what I can get
1 oz cascade 60 min
.5 oz citra 15 mn
.5 oz citra 5 min
1 oz citra 1 min
1.5 oz citra dry
safale s04 dry yeast

Well done. Its also spectacular that mom enjoys your beers enough to make an order.

I had a best compliment of my own the other day when I poured the first couple pints of my Founders clone. Roomates took a large sip (stupid alkies need to enjoy a beer), stopped thought for a second and literally said "That... just may be the best beer I have ever had" Its amazing how much a truly sincere compliment on a brew can make you swell up and smile like a new father (or mother) showing off their first child.

Cheers!

That'll work... and not far off from my thinking. Good luck.
