Hi!
A few beginners questions about cleaning and sanitising.

I've done some reading on this forum and noticed that there are many different cleaners & sanitisers but most of them (bar bleach) do not seem to be available in the UK.

1) Cleaners:
Everyone seems to be very happy with Oxyclean: Can this be just substituted with sodium percarbonate?
If I am using pure sodium percarbonate, what proportion should I mix it with water?

2) Sanitisers:
Is Potassium metabisulphate any good? That's what I got from the local homebrew store when I got a starter kit.

I can get some Iodophor but only in very large amounts (5L).

I have access to a lot of isopropyl alcohol (stock it for leatherwork) but it does not seem to be a the best sanitiser so I'd rather use something else.

And of course there is bleach.

So out of the 4 above, which sanitiser would you recommend?

Thank you for the advice.

Having done more search, I found a UK distributor of StarSan, so the sanitiser problem is solved.

For Cleaning I decided to use a 50-50 mix of sodium percarbonate and sodium carbonate.

Can someone please tell me how much water should I dilute the mixture with?

Thanks!
