I'm using a Wyeast Munich lager yeast with an ideal temp of 48-54. I want to make a starter and wonder what the wort temp should be for the starter when i pitch the yeast.

I always put the starter in the fridge, so that I can decant the spent wort. I generally cool the wort to 45 degrees for lagers, and pitch the yeast that is just a couple of degrees cooler- so 43 degree yeast (ish) and 45 degree wort. I let that rise up to 48-50 degrees for fermentation.

Thanks. I've been brewing for 20 years but haven't done a lager in forever. I have one in the fermenter now and am getting ready to do another.
