Just opened my Liquid Malt Extract and found it MOLDY. I'm already in the brewing process and I need a substitute. Will plain old sugar work, and how much?
Refined sugar will change your beer - and make it drier in the end. If you have extra DME you you'll use that - otherwise I'd use a spoon to remove the mold (most likely on top layer) and use the rest. The boil will kill anything you don't get out.
