I'm on the hunt for a good extract Pale Ale recipe and I've come across a few where you only boil for 15-30 minutes. I've never heard of that and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with doing that.

Anecdotal evidence only, a friend of my son who brews a bunch tried a 20 minute boil kit once. Only once. Nuff said.

You are boiling for bitterness as well as flavor and aroma. You are better off with a 60 minute boil in my opinion. 60 minutes for bittering, 20 minutes for flavor, and 5 minutes to flame out for aroma...oh and some dry hopping.
