Need eyes to be a healthy rhizome?

I got some rhizomes in the mail and they have been in the fridge. I am planting tomorrow. I noticed that rhizomes online show small sprouts or eyes I guess you could call them. A few of mine seem to have snapped off in the bag. Will it still grow new shoots?
