I have brewed a few 1 gallon batches but i just got a 6 gallon bottling bucket and started a simple s-04 yeast with 5gal of meijer store bought apple juice and 2 cups of corn sugar to bring the gravity up to 1.60. The krausen is not going away. It is at 1.1 now I started a week ago. The taste is no where near my 1 gal tries. The cider tastes off, I did not see anything that looked wrong with it but maybe you guys can take a look at the picture and tell me if it is ok.

i did use 2 step sanitation
I put yeast nutrient and booster as well

I hope you mean starting gravity was 1.060, and current gravity is 1.010. that makes a huge difference. :D

Do you keep a lid and airlock on, or are you leaving it open all the time?

Is your goal to let this go dry, say 1.000 - 0.995?

Krausen looks fine to me, just let it be.

I do keep a lid and airlock on it. and I meant to say 1.06 and 1.01.
and my goal is 1.0 or .995. how much longer do you think it will take?
I have no airlock activity so that's why I pulled the top off.

It'll take as long as it takes... :)
Shouldn't be more than a few more days, another week at the most with that yeast.
