I took the Bee Cave Pale ale, and wanted to modify it to use Citra and Amarillo hops for the first time. I have never used either hop and wanted to get a good taste for how they are in this brew.

Grain Bill:
1 lb 13 oz - Vienna
7 lb 4 oz - 2 Row
7 oz - Crystal 10

Hops:
.2 oz Citra 60 Mins
.25 oz Citra 15 mins
.25 oz Amarillo 15 Mins
.25 oz Citra 10 Mins
.25 oz Amarillo 10 Mins
.25 oz Citra 5 Mins
.25 oz Amarillo 5 Mins
.25 oz Citra Flameout
.25 oz Citra Flamout
.8 oz Citra - Dry Hop
1 oz Amarillo Dry Hop

Yeast
US - 05

1.051 OG
37.8 IBU
5.1 SRM
5% ABV
Shooting for a 1.013 FG.

How is this looking?

Looks like a nice recipe! Go for it! I just made a citra Amarillo IPA here is my recipe

I mashed at 150 and it went from 1.065 to 1.006 and is tasting and smelling amazing

Grain bill looks nice to me. Not sure you need the 60 min Citra addition for an APA, and 0.2 oz won't do much anyway. I would move those 0.2 oz to the dry hop and make it an even combo with the Amarillo. Sounds delicious!

IMO I'd up the IBU's by about 10 or so. I did a citra/amarillo that came in about 45 IBU, 1.055 and I'd have preferred a little more bitterness. It was something like:

.75 oz citra FWH
.5 simcoe 15 min
.5 citra 10 min
1 amarillo 5
2 citra 0 min
1 amarillo 0 min

Dry hop 2.25 citra, 2 amarillo, .25 simcoe for 10 days
wlp 007
1.062/1.014

'twas a killer beer, but a touch more bitterness would have helped.

Are you making a yeast starter? Smack pack? Dry yeast? I tend to agree with tgmartin, the lower IBU would make it a bit mild for my tastes.
