Trying to brew an American Wheat,

6lbs Bavarian Wheat LME
1oz of Hallertau (3.5%)
Wyeast 1007 (slurry, and clean tasing as opposed to a Bavarian yeast)
----

If I add some cascade at flameout, do I JUST get aroma from it? I REALLY hate the resiny mouthfeel it leaves on the tongue, hate the piney taste, but I like the smell and think it would add a bit to this wheat.

Or will I get flavor/oil by adding it?

Add it or skip it?

My vote would be aroma only. I'll be interested to see what others say. Is there some Cascade magic I'm unware of?

You shouldn't get flavor from it, but why not pick another similar hop that does not have the piney resin flavor to be sure. I've dry hopped a wheat beer with Centennial to get the citrus aroma and it worked great.

a large percentage of your taste is made up of aroma, so yes you'll get flavor.

not sure where you're getting resin or piney from, but it aint from cascade (citrus, floral)

Maybe it's not "resiny" but everything that I have that has cascade seems to "stick" pine oil taste on my tongue.

I may just do a little bit .25 oz at flameout then next time make adjustments.
