God I can't describe to you guys the elation I am feeling right now!
My local homebrew club (Pinellas Urban Brewers) supplied kegs to a tasting event at an art gallery. It was a fundraiser for the gallery and a way to showcase the art of crafting beer.
We had about 13 kegs, ranging from a Mango Coconut Wheat to an Imperial Stout you could have used as engine oil. The voting was based on a "people's choice" system. Every attendee was given three votes.
I entered a Red IPA. It was a modification of the Shreddin Red IPA from the Hop Bliss issue of Zymurgy. I hit all my numbers on it, used WLP090 San Diego Super, and fermented it down from 1.071 to 1.016 in three days! Dry hopped in the keg and brought it with me tonight.
AND I WON THE COMPETITION!!!!
It's my first win of anything I've entered and I get to brew a batch of this beer at the 1bbl system at Rapp Brewing. I AM ON TOP OF THE WORLD RIGHT NOW!!!
