I brewed when I was in high school and college, from 1987 through 1992. Took a break for a while, but picked up the hobby again recently. As a kid I had to write my own brewing software, but these days it appears that there are apps for that.
As a kid I had to drive a very long way to find ingredients and equipment, and I never knew anyone else who brewed. Today I can order everything I need online and have it delivered to my house, and here I can talk to people all over the country who brew.
Technology is a good thing!
