I am currently assembling my gas manifold for my brew stand and was wondering if anyone out there knew of a way to paint the black gas iron pipe.

My brewstand is nicely powder coated black and I would like to paint this gas pipe to match.

Any ideas?

Does the manifold need to be assembled prior to painting?

I would clean the pipe with mineral spirits, spray a metal primer coating (rustoleum makes some) for adhesion and protection from rust then put down a base coat of the color you want over that. Just keep it in the same line of paints so you don't have any problems.
