Is there an AG hydro & extract hydro? I truley, highly doubt it. But reading some threads.
 
Nope, there isn't. A hydrometer is a scientific instrument designed to do one job, measure specific gravity. It doesn't matter what the solution is.
 
No. Same hydro for either. What in the threads implied otherwise?

Thing is you can predict the O.G. without taking any readings via the ingredients. However with AG you need to factor in efficiency so the O.G. can vary from the prediction whereas with extract it should be spot on. In either case you use the same type of hydrometer to measure o.g.
