Is My Centennial Plant Dead?

I got 2 rhizomes about 6 weeks ago. The cascade has really taken off. The Centennial though stopped growing at about 12" and all the leaves have fallen off in the last week. Is my plant dead? Will it regenerate later this year or next?
 
I think bugs ate the leaves off of the centennial. I have it in a separate pot right next to my cascade. I have a sneaky suspicion that it is still alive. May have to wait till next year though.
