I was just thinking about adding an orange flavor to an ale I just brewed. I boiled it last night and it is currently bubbling away. Can I add an orange flavor after it has been in the fermenter?

Wow. I guess orange flavor is a hot topic today. It seems to be the topic every other post. :)

Sweet orange peel with 10 minutes in the boil for a subtle orange.

Orange extract in the bottling bucket/keg for a "candy" type orange.

Fresh orange zest and orange juice with 10 minutes in the boil or in secondary for a real orange flavor.

Im thinking about adding some cointreau to my bottling bucket for my wheat beer to add an orange kick. Maybe 1/4 of the total 'sugars' worth (about 3 ounces of the liquor, I ).

I should probably just do a teaspoon in 6 bottles to test it (that would be enough to carb a bottle) though...that would be the prudent (and boring) thing to do.
