I guess I should have made some slurry from the heady's I drank. Only thing is I usually drink it from the can. I would like try try it in my next IIPA

I must say I'm surprised to see that they say to drink it out of the can instead of pouring it into a glass. Can't make heads or tails of it.

They say its to preserve the hop character in the beer, but I think it's because it's such a murky beer. I poured it in a glass because that's what I do with every beer. The appearance doesn't matter so much to me when everything else about it is great.
 
I poured my first one in a glass. I like the murkyness. I feel IIPA's shouldn't be filtered. I think Pliny is and I am not a fan. Heady smokes it as does surly abrasive.

Pliney was being sold, before rows of simcoe were ever being planted

I completely agree.
Not saying Pliny isn't a great beer, but it doesn't live up to the hype. It's just okay when compared the the other IPAs out there. Heady and Abrasive are definitely at the top of best DIPAs and are so much better than Pliny in my opinion.

I understand people say that freshness is an issue. Especially when living outside the distribution area. But I agree 100% and because I support my local :)

You should remove Nightstalker. It is awful!

My SWMBO is happy when I send stuff out. Not so much when it arrives. She says I have too much beer in my cellar. Probably true but I enjoy specialty stuff.

I believe so :) I just dropped off my package for Blizzard. Any thoughts on some sort of tracking mechanism for people to see what was shipped? Might be a cool way to keep track of the number of wishs granted and what was received.

Elaborate a bit for me. Anyone should be able to browse the thread and see who's granted who's wishes and see pics of every MAW hit. There's no running tally, but its all in the open to see.
 
As much as I like the idea of a thread just to show the beer porn when you get your MAW, it would invariably be polluted with tons of comments along the lines of "awesome haul" or "great score!" so we may as well keep it here and promote this thread.

The best idea I have so far is a shared spreadsheet on google docs with links to the images, who gave, who received, and other info I may be missing. Let me look into it a bit more and ill see if I can come up with a better idea. I know I don't want to miss out on what people are receiving that's most of the fun in the thread. Sometimes going through a large popular thread gets tedious. I also still believe posting pics here is good too just an alternate repository to see the collective awesomeness of this thread.

Tumblr may be a viable option as well. Check out the link below. Still playing around with it to see if it would work out okay. Could also create one that is password protected so we could limit it to just us. :)
