Hey kids,

Second batch is cooking up tonight. This IPA calls for .5oz of hops @ "0m left in the boil" - do I leave these in until I'm ready to pitch the yeast, or do they stay in the remainder of the fermentation process?

I am planning on dry hopping in a secondary, if that matters.

Thanks!

Once your 60 min is up dump the 00 min hops in turn off the heat. Stir them in. Then chill to desired pitching temp.

and then keep them in during fermentation, or take out once it's chilled and ready for the yeast?

Most people would say either pour your wort into your carboy with a screen/filter or use a racking cane/siphon to pull the wort out of the brew kettle into the carboy without dumping in the boiled hops.

There are limits as to how long you want the hops to stay in the beer.

Though there are some very reputable people on these forums that just dump the whole brew kettle wort into the carboy with hops and all.
