    SS Brewtech Recirc Manifold

I have the same 20 Gallon Infusion MT. Here is a photo from my brew day on Friday. The manifold is a bit heavy but will lie on the grain bed pretty good. I have tried using a piece of silicone hose just lying on the grain bed, but get better results with the manifold. But, I also use the Ss...

How long before using second runnings?

I brewed a RIS on Sunday 2/5 and had got about 4 gallons of 1.050 runnings in a bucket. It was late and I decided to boil it and make a lower gravity beer the next day. I got sick and haven't had a chance to do anything with it. It has been in a sealed plastic bucket in my garage with temps...

What I did for beer today

OMG - The last time I posted to this thread was four years ago! I won't try to catch you up, but things have been pretty busy lately as I ready myself for electric brewing. Nothing huge today because some of the more fun stuff happened over the weekend when I installed a HERMS coil in my HLT...

I just cut two holes with Bobby's 21mm carbide and it took seconds instead of minutes. I bet I could cut many more as well.

How many people use a Keggle for HLT/HERMS for 10gallon batches?

I just finished adding a Beautiful HERMS coil to my HLT keggle. A buddy says it won't be enough volume for bigger beers. What did I forget? I normally do ten gallons batch sparge and heat the sparge water during the mash. So, I guess what my friend is saying is that I need the whole volume...

ss brew tech 20 gallon mash tun

I also have a 20 gallon. What most people don't get is that this monster weighs 50lbs. That's 50lbs of steel, not plastic cooler. So, when you pre-heat you really need to let it sit and soak up as much heat from the pre-heat, so it doesn't suck the heat from your mash. I have played with it a...
