Looking to brew something out of my comfort zone

Unless its a sour, I usually prefer bigger stronger beers. That being said, my latest endeavor into bizarre brewing was an 8.5% abv sandy. The beer rose into the mid 70s during fermentation complementing the lemon with some nice clove notes. It's a very deinkable, very strong summer session beer.

New Belgium + Alpine Super India Pale Ale.

I agree, I use columbus exclusively for bittering. Theres so many better hops for flavor/aroma. Still wouldn't pass up the chance to try another new Belgium beer although they dont make it out here unless FedEx brings me some.

    Your LHBS

I have 2 in my area, one is like that, the other is awesome. The guys will spend an hour with me tweaking recipes, mash/hop schedules and water chemistry, or just chat about new beers we've tried or aquired recently. Needless to say which one I frequent.

    Nanobrew concept: would this work?

There's a place around here that does this. They have their own brewery and taproom, but in the same facility contract brew for 4 or 5 other small breweries.
