New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I haven't used a bag in a long time. I gently swirl the fermenter and also rouse the yeast.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Catching up on this thread. Two weeks ago, I made a hoppy pale ale in which I had heavy whirlpool hopping and pitched a rehydrated pack of 04. I dry-hopped first addition on day three at high krausen and added big second dryhop a few days ago. The appearance of the beer, now at final gravity...

    Need some help ...

If I have the valve closed going from regulator to the four-way manifold, shouldn't that theoretically tell me if the leak is in the regulator?

So this regulator that I am using now, it has the rubber gasket thing built in. Have never used the washer with that because I was under the impression I didn't need to. Should I put the washer in?

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Mine only carries German and Belgian. But I've used a North American type (Briess?) on a basic pale ale once and I liked how it turned out. And there's a brewery that I like that apparently uses a domestic pilsner as their base malt. So, just curious how it might apply to this style.

What kind of pilsner malt did you use?

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I have a Galaxy/Mosaic hazy pale in keg now that finished a 1.012 with 1318. Healthy starter/good aeration at pitching/ferment around 67 and then ramp to 71 or 72 before crashing. 15 days grain to glass.

I think El Dorado is really underrated for this style. I've used it twice, in various combinations and both were terrific.

WLP200 Best of Both Worlds - New White Labs Blend

I still prefer 007, but third-generation of this 200 was terrific on a DIPA. Took 1.081 OG down to 1.013 in less than 2 weeks. Good yeast. Will use it again.

    Hop combos

They weren't on my original list but I made big pale ale with Cashmere and Azacca a few months back. I entered it in the NHC as an IPA, because it was big enough, in terms of ABV and IBU to qualify, and because I already had a single-hop pale with the Idaho 007 hops entered. The Cashmere/Azacca...

Pretty sure mine is plastic or nylon, but that's a good thought. Will check that tonight.

diagnosing my CO2 leak issue in my draft system. I built this keezer about 2.5 years ago. Everything was great for more than a year. Since last winter however, I've had on-and-off leak problems where I am blowing through CO2 tanks in a week or less. I've swapped out regulators with a spare one...

Can you Brew It recipe for Deschutes Mirror Pond Pale Ale

There's not a lot overly special about Mirror Pond and it's a pretty simple beer, as this recipe suggests. It was my gateway beer in the craft beer some 17 years ago during a camping trip on the Oregon Coast. It's just a simple, classic pale ale with cascades. And because it's Deschutes, it's...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Made an overly dank WC IPA last summer: Summit, Apollo, Comet, Chinook and Columbus.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I need some yeast help on this. Heading out of town first thing tomorrow a.m. Went by local shop today to get grain for my third round of NE style. Back in town on Monday morning and going to brew then. LHBS out of London III and out of Conan. Will check shops based on my trip this weekend to...
