    My Weldless Build Using Strut

Another method I found useful was to get everything assembled for a section loosely and straight and then tighten each bolt one at a time while still keeping everything aligned. That way you can narrow it down to one joint that may need adjusting as apposed to several. It also helps the...

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

Yea i had the same issue for a few of mine. It took a combination of tightening some at an angle and then bending a few of them. The bending can be difficult but I just attached one of the longer beams to the side that needed bending and push on it.

Just finished mine! I'm just missing a few heat shields between the two halves and then a board to place the MT on top of. Thanks for all the help guys. Should brew with it soon and I'll update with any lessons learned.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

While I wait for my first Lager to lager I think I'll play around with some ginger beer. One of the best drink I have had in a long time was a Moscow Mule on tap! The vodka was already mixed in and carbonated. Going to try a one gallon batch and then 5 if it turns out well.

    First cheese- FETA! (with pics)

I would say it makes life a LOT easier. With milk you have to be careful not to overheat it and slowly get it to the desired temp. A double boiler really helped me do that. Otherwise there is a good chance of unevenly heating the milk I just put a smaller pot inside of a larger pot as my "double...

Android Controlled Electric Brewery Part 1

I am currently working on my Arduino controlled system as well, and it is coming along very well. I started out with an Uno and soon realized I would be needing many more output so I got the Mega and it is just the right thing. My set up is pretty different from the OP's in terms of all the...

    Arduino questions (mash temp controller)

I was originally trying to do the same thing by using buttons to provide the input, but I decided I didn't want to do the programming for it so I now use potentiometers and the map() function to dial my input times and temp. I just found it much easier than trying to get the buttons to be inputs.

Question about my Altbier recipe and water to grain ratio

Ok so maybe just bump the ratio up a bit to help conversion since I do have my system set up for HERMS so i rather not go the decoction way on the recipe.

    What is my next step?

Ok cool. To me it seems weird that it was done in 3 days? Am I losing anything with such a fast fermentation because with beer I know the longer you let it sit the more of the off flavors will be gotten rid of by the yeast. But if I stop fermentation now......

My Collapsible Stand Design- Need your input

Yea good idea with the pump. About the top part being able to come off...yea I was thinking the same thing, but then I also thought maybe make it so that it comes off the bottom HLT part so that I can lay it sideways. Hmmm yea I guess you are right about the two parts not having to be...

    What is my next step?

Oh and I don't plan on using bottles. I will be force carbonating it.

    What is my next step?

So I bought a gallon of apple juice with OG of 1.050 and added ale yeast to it. Three days later it is at 1.007 which is about where I would like to have it in sweetness. What do I do next? Do I let it keep fermenting and then add sugar later to get it up or do I stop fermentation by chilling it...
