    No DME for a starter - help!

    I have a planned brew this weekend and I thought I had some DME for a starter, but upon inspection, I'm out!! I'm using harvested and washed yeast that has been chilling in my fridge for 5-6 weeks. Can I just use. A sugar water solution to wake up the yeast before I brew? Any ideas?

    Quick help!!

    Hey there, I started my mash about 10 minutes ago. Target temp was 150 for 60, but I'm sitting at 147. Do I need to add some boiling water to bring temp up?

    Should I use a campden tablet?

    When does beer freeze?

    AT what temp will my beer freeze? Ive just started lagering my Oktoberfest and my lagering chamber doubles as my kegerator. My carboy sits on the hump in the kegerator which is about 5ish degrees warmer than the very bottom of the kegerator and I don't want to freeze the beer in my kegs...

    Lager starter question...

    It been a while since I've done a lager... I just whipped up a starter and I can't remember with a lager starter if I need to set it in my lagering chamber set to 50ish degrees or if 70degrees on my counter is ok for the starter.

    Adding vanilla to secondary??

    I've never added vanilla, but I think I'd like to add a hint of vanilla to my pumpkin ale this year (currently in secondary hibernation...I mean fermentation)... ...do I throw in a whole bean or some sort of extract? And how long should I leave it in? Thanks!

    Help - Pumpkin ale questions

    I'm preparing for my first ever Pumpkin ale this weekend and have questions...
