    Makin' Yeast...

I'm new to yeast stuff, but I have been trying to figure out stretching the yeast cost out. Why not make a yeast starter, increase up to 2.0-2.8B cells. Divide into 4 containers. Essentially, reducing the cost from $12 to $4 per batch? I see threads talking about washing and pitching trub, but...

How to build a 5 gal, 110v eBIAB kettle

I have a question...Can I use a single 110 element to "supplement" my electric stove? Living in an apartment I don't think that my kitchen 20 amp circuit will handle 2 elements.

I ended up mashing for another 20 mins last night, and I went from a 1.042 to a 1.050. So, I guess this one just needed a little longer in the pot.

    Hefe

I'm brewing a Hefe this weekend, actually I plan to do it with organic kiwi's. They are on sale, so why not. It will be my first with all grain (BIAB). Any great recipes for the Hefe? I am starting my search for them now, saw this thread and decided to ask.

I wonder if I am thinking too much into it?? I mean, it's a brew in a bag! I should keep it simple. Like discnjh said, wrap it with a blanket and call it good!

Today I decided to add a little molasses. Not because it is going to add too many points to my low O.G., but I had it in the cabinet and I wanted to add a little something to the flavor of the Brown. So, 4oz of molasses when in the carboy. I did add it to 6oz of boiling water, just in case...
