Does Anyone Want To Give Advice...

    Your worst brew ever.

Brewed up a Chocolate Rasberry stout, bought all of the ingredients but mistakenly picked up whole leaf hops instead of pellets. Had to go with what I had. It ended up way under bittered, way too sweet. Tried to talk myself into liking it, but never finished the keg. Lesson learned.

Does Anyone Want To Give Advice...

Og = original gravity, that needs to be taken before you pitch your yeast. Fg = final gravity and that is taken when fermentation is complete and it can also tell you fermentation is complete when you get the same reading three days in a row. Both og and fg can be taken with a tool called a...

It's 26* here in North Georgia, but an IIPA recipe is calling my name and I have to answer. Going to start my mash within the hour!

American Wheat Beer Sterling Gold (3.5% AG, Light and Zesty)

I'm planning on brewing up a 5 gallon batch of this soon. After reading through all of these post I haven't seen a firm response on how much grain of paradise to add to a 5 gallon. Is two grams too much? One gram about right? Thoughts from those that have used GOP? Thanks guys...

    Not stuck, bot slooooow sparge....normal?

I had the same issue. I now make it a habit to throw a handful of rice hulls into every mash I do. The rice hulls act as a way to keep the grain bed loose, not sure of the science behind it but it works. I also use a bazooka type tube in a 10 gallon Rubbermaid mash tun.

Second AG batch second FG too high???

I use a digital probe thermometer, I also use a rubbermaid 10 gallon cooler for my mash tun. I can't get the probe down to the bottom of the grain bed, I suppose my temps could be higher deeper into the mash? My temps have been spot on, right at 154 and don't loose more than a degree or two over...

Second AG batch second FG too high???

Guys, need some advice here... I've done two all grain batches, one was Yoppers Hoppy Amber Ale and one Milk Stout. I hit my mash temps and og's. Did starters, 1L and 1.8L respectively. Fermented both @ 67* for four weeks, but both FG's ended way high, amber ale @ 1.024 and milk stout @ 1.030. I...

    Beer Alchemy Mash/Sparge

Not sure if this helps, but if you select "print brew day instructions" it will give you temperature, amount and time.

    First starter

I hit the ratio on the nose, but neglected to get a gravity measurement, bad move. Everything is bubbling away so no worries on that front, i was just worried about under pitching based on less that 1 liter due to evaporation. I like the two minute boil idea, saves time to boot. Thanks for the...

    First starter

Ok guys, just did my first yeast starter and first all grain. Both processes went well. I do have a question about my starter... I did 1 liter of water and 100 grams of DME which I boiled, ( easy boil, not hard), for the prescribed 15 minutes in a saucepan. I ended up with something less than 1...

    Pumpkin Ale question

Guys, is it better to steep the canned pumpkin with the grains or add the pumpkin to the boil? I read both methods are used, but which one produces a better result?
