Barrel + Bug Country = One happy guy!

Have you tried it yet? How does ECY20 go with a red wine barrel?

    McMaster Keg O-Ring List

Some kegs have one lid that fits them. If I switch lids because I'm cleaning a few at a time they won't seal. Then I have to try each lid on each keg until they all seal. Same with dip tubes. Now I clean one at a time start to finish.

Easy Way to Make Sour Beers (1 gal wort + dregs)

I try to rack after the 'primary fermentation' is done. I did just rack a BW a week ago and the pellicle is back already and there can't be much left to eat in there.

Easy Way to Make Sour Beers (1 gal wort + dregs)

I had straight 2-row come out about halfway to that color. I DID intentionally let the airlock dry out on that gallon for a little vinegar character because I was trying to clone Duchesse and was trying to see if that helped. I've only done about 10 of these and each has been its own color. Some...

Easy Way to Make Sour Beers (1 gal wort + dregs)

I can't explain it, but I've seen it with all the beers I've done this way. Each is it's own color. Always try it before passing judgment.

    RIMS for Dummies

You have the PID at 100%. Try turning it down. It is so powerful that it overshoots because it is on all the time. My setup runs best at 20%, which means it is only 'on' 20% of the time. Try changing the setting to 20 under the OUTH setting. Then you will probably need to adjust it up as it most...

    Hops in Boil

My BK only has a 3/8 pickup so I can't get one going. That and my intake to the pump clogs so it's not possible except by manual way. Also, that just makes the hops land in the center so it is useless.

Yes. I have a ground. However, I don't trust electricity. It's invisible and therefore both magical and deadly.

    Hops in Boil

Yeah, I have one in my MT from you. I think I may pump the wort back over to it after I clean out the MT and do my boil there to try it out. You should have seen my screen the first time I ran my pump - it flattened it. Lols.

    Hops in Boil

Here is what I have been using, but unless I have only .25 oz in the boil, it clogs fast. Usually I have mixed pellet and whole hops. - P

    New Control Panel

Ok, just got done wiring up my control panel and I have a few questions. 1. If I use my Fluke multimeter on the AC setting can I hold onto one probe, or put it on a copper pipe, while to other is on my kettle to make sure it won't fry me? 2. Do both hot lines really go to the burner? It...

    Hops in Boil

So it's nylon or nothing? It seems like a FB would just clog. I have a SS kitchen strainer over my pickup tube and that even clogs right away.

    Hops in Boil

What solutions are there to hops clogging everything up when trying to transfer from the BK to fermenters? I often make highly hopped beers and the whole hops that I often use form a mat across anything that I have tried to use to filter them out. I'd like to stay with stainless if possible, but...

    Cacao nibs

I use 2 oz in a porter for 1.5 months. The flavor is nicely subtle, but takes that long to really come on.
