    Chest Freezer Specs and Layouts

I brought 3 ball locks to Lowes yesterday to test-fit any/all 5cf they have, and this one held three on the floor with a little room to spare. I forgot to bring my 5lb CO2 tank, but the hump wasn't terribly tall, so I'd imagine you could fit 2 5gal plus 1 2.5gal on the floor, and 1 2.5gal and...

How many gallons of Brandon O's Graff have been made?

Do tell, did you try it?

    Oxygen Free Kegging!

I use a similar pressurized procedure for cleaning and storing, but haven't tried forcing from my bucket to keg. I bet the lid would would up to the pressure...

Naked City Brewing has a location!!!!!

Just found out that I'm going to Portland for a wedding this summer, so we're making a side trip to Seattle specifically to visit Naked City. I can't freakin wait!

    Electric controller for boil pot

I recently met Dean, who lives Windham, who has a pretty tidy 220 system in his basement. He said he visits HBT, but doesn't hang out on the forums, so to speak. I'll drop him a note that you're asking...

    New LHBS, Gardiner, Maine

I stopped in in September and made a mental note to return again. I have to remember that Gardiner isn't all that far away from Portland... their downtown is cute and nice to stroll around on a nice day, and the newish river park is just a great place to sit around and watch the boats. I got...

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Pre-spiced like the kind available at Trader Joe's? Tried it. Came out like... um, ass. It was terrible. I so wanted it to be good, too. It's was just too off-balance.

    What are you drinking now?

I just took a pint sample to test the gravity of a modified Graff that I've been sitting on. Every time I tweak the recipe I'm happy, although I should try the original again just to see how far I have strayed.

What are some of the mistakes you made...where your beer still turned out great!

Awesome... not exactly one of those stories where you think "Hmm, a mistake was made, but it's worth replicating" because hell, that was a lousy brew day, but your recipe must be bulletproof. Care to share?

    BierMunchers Rolling Kegerator (BYO Published)

I can't speak for BM, but this should do in a pinch: http://www.amazon.com/Feel-Free-Kayak-Drain-Plug/dp/B004CGDA1O/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1352049300&sr=8-6&keywords=threaded+drain+plug

    Bottling Tips for the Homebrewer

I was just about to say the same thing. And hell, you can probably get a hacksaw blade 2-pack at the dollar store (of course, the $2.49 two-pack at Home Depot isn't all that much more...)

Right, but they promote a home-brewer get-together occasionally...

    Portland brewer

Hey there! I'm in Westbrook. Keep an eye on the Bier Cellar Facebook page for a monthly gathering (somewhere in Westbrook). I missed the first few, but plan on attending the next with what's left of a keg of pale ale I made for my wedding.

    Craigslist - Maine - 20lb Co2 tank, $75

Not my tank, but also not a bad deal, even if it needs to be tested before the next fill. Just a deposit* on a tank would be a lot more than that... http://maine.craigslist.org/for/3329479956.html * Yes, I know, in Maine, it's not technically a deposit, because even though you buy the...

The stupidest comment on your beer

Sorta related: everyone at the office knows when I've had a lot of homebrew because I stink up the place the next day :-D

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

I'm pretty sure that the calculator doesn't want the value of apple juice in pounds, even though that's how it appears. Apple juice is about 50 points per pound per gallon, so if you're adding 4 gallons, you're adding 200 points, not 950. The idea of 15%abv Graff is equally interesting and...

    Kegerator Conversion: Frigidaire LFPH44M4LM

I stopped by both Best Buy and Lowes on my way home from work - BB does indeed still have the better model. Woot! Going to go back tomorrow to pick one up.

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Temperature is pretty important, and four days at 74° is enough for some batches to finish. 74° isn't usually an ideal environment for fermentation, partially because the process will be so aggressive (and therefore quick). You can calculate your OG and take a FG reading to see how things are...
