Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Something worth thinking about before you bust out the soldering iron - depending on how you are planning to mount the PCB, you may want to leave some space between the Wemos Mini and the PCB. As you can see in these pictures, I still have a lot of pin length that I could have used to separate...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I am planning to mount the power supply, the PCB, and all relays to DIN rails, and noticed that both the sainsmart relay module and Thorrak's PCB have a common dimension of 55mm. Is there some sort of mounting option based on this 55mm dimension, or is that a coincidence? My current plan is...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Nice Job! I now have this working for the first time (using brewpi-esp8266.v0.8.wifi.bin and fresh git pull per your instructions). Now, moving on to mounting the power supply, PCBs, and relays, and getting the wiring done to the AC unit, glycol pump, and Asco valves... Thanks for your effort...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I am seeing the same thing with the updated tcpserial.py The "virtual" and "jail" thing - basically everything I am trying is not on a physical device (like a RPI) but rather a virtual one. But I dont think this has any bearing on the issue as @Mikmonken is seeing the same thing on an RPI.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I edited the post with more details, but it seems to be after sending commands (changing setpoints, modes, etc?) With Debian it seems to be delayed, but with Freebsd (running in a jail) it happened every time I changed temp setpoint. The traceback has more info- File...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I don't have a raspberry pi, and tried running this on several "LAMP" and "FAMP" servers, but kept getting this- "AttributeError: 'TCPSerial' object has no attribute 'open'" Has anyone else seen this? Edit- some more details.. I am running the D1 mini on Thorrak's PCB (NO LCD version) with an...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Subscribed. Thanks to all that put effort into this. I am going the glycol route rather than enclosed fridge... I am attempting to use two D1 minis to control two individual glycol loops using asco valves to control ferment temps. 5000 BTU AC unit will chill glycol tank of X gallons in a cooler...

    Bellingham, WA water report

I got an answer on Ca and Mg. Less then 10ppm Ca and Mg should be significantly lower than 10ppm. I was told this is data from 15 years ago and probably did not change since then. All other data is avg for the last year as follows- PH=8.8 Alkalinity=29ppm as CaCO Iron=.01ppm Hardness...

    Bellingham, WA water report

I did receive a Bellingham water report, it has everything except individual levels of Ca and Mg. Once I have these I will post an update here.

    Bellingham, WA water report

I live in Bham as well and am trying to get the report as well. If and when I do, I will post it on http://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/water-profiles/ and maybe save the next guy looking some time. It is hard to believe I cannot find any info on our water online..

    Reviews on Millar's Barley Mill?

I bought the Millars mill about 3 months ago, and got a little worried when I read some critical reviews before it showed up. But, this thing performs beautifully, and adjustment screws let you fine tune precisely. Nice mill.
