Right now i'm sitting in Kennedy's Irish pub in San Francisco. I love having a laptop and some wireless action. Sitting around on a sunday in a nice pub with a great selection of beer, and not too expensive. Anyone in San Francisco i would highly suggest Kennedy's. It is fun and chill and relax...

    Naming your beer

So i've brewed batches and never really named a beer. My friends come over and they always ask "what do you call it?" to which i reply with the most generic name ever - beer? stout? honey beer? Do any of you guys actually think up creative names for your creations? I was thinking that I was...

    That watered downed taste

I actually bottled the beer about 4 weeks ago, and they were sitting conditioning in the dark place that i put all my beer to condition. I just moved some of them from there to the fridge to drink. most of them will probably sit there for another week or 2 since i only move 6 into my fridge at a...

    That watered downed taste

The fact that I didn't add enough extract might be it. I added enough for the recipe, but maybe not enough for my taste. Anyway, i'll dig up the recipe later on and double check it. And i'm one of the ones that doesn't take the gravity readings... but with this last experience, maybe i should.

    That watered downed taste

My downtown brown clone has been brewed and done and has moved the magic place i call the fridge, where it gets ready for drinking. The thing is that i had one yesterday and noticed that it tasted watered down. I noticed this too when I moved it from the primary to the secondary (posted in the...

    Simpsons vs Family Guy

simpsons might be getting old, but its still funny. The problem with family guy is that there are no new ones. We have to wait until may to see new episodes of family guy, and then maybe, just maybe it will be better then simpsons. I doubt it though.

    Contamination

I just moved my batch from the primary to the secondary, and when i move it I took a smell and it was the first time that I've made a batch and seriously thought it had been contaminated. It didn't smell bad, but it didn't smell good either, so I moved it over and in the process got a bit in a...

    bottles

I don't know how mr beer kits work, but it seems like they are all about the plastic bottles. If you do decide to move on to glass bottles and capping them yourself make sure you practice capping the bottles before you start bottling the beer. Sure you might waste a few caps but its better...

    Samichlaus

On sunday I was at the local cost plus world market browsing through their beer section when I saw the Samichlaus beer. I had read about it breifly and was surprised to find it at the store. This beer is "supposed" to be one of the rarest beers. It is brewed on one day only Dec 6, and it is aged...
